Vetronix Crash Retrieval System
CARS, Inc has the equipment necessary to download vehicle data using Vetronix Crash Rretrieval
System (CDR). Vetronix, working with General Motors and the Ford Motor Company, has developed the technology to download
certain datum from their automobiles.
The CDR system downloads certain pre-impact and impact data from the vehicle's airbag module
to a laptop computer. Currently the system only supports certian GM and Ford vehicles. However, upgrades are planned
in the future that will provide coverage for other manufactures. CDR download fee is $750.00 plus $125.00/hour for technician's
time to download data.
CARS, Inc. can provide the following data (some systems may not provide all the data listed
below):
1. Brake status (on or off) 5 seconds prior to impact
2. Vehicle speed 5 seconds prior to impact.
3. Engine speed 5 seconds prior to impact.
4. Percent of wide open throttle 5 seconds prior to impact.
5. Change in velocity (also refreed to as "delta V") vs. time for frontal airbag deployment
event.
6. State of warning lamp when event occurred.
7. State of driver's seat belt switch at impact (buckled or not buckled).
8. Time from vehicle impact to deployment.
Michael "Mike" Fouty of CARS, Inc. has been trained and certified to download and
interpret the data retrieved from the CDR. If you would like for Mike to meet with you or your staff regarding

Scene Mapping and Diagraming
We at CARS, Inc. are constantly striving to provide our clients with professional
services by using the latest technology. To this end we have begun using laser mapping to map scenes for our clients.
This allows us to produce diagrams that are accurate and make exceptional exhibits for trial, mediation or both.
Mike Fouty is our mapping and scene-diagramming expert. He retired
from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office where he spent a combined 22 years with the Traffic Squad or Traffic Homicide Section.
Mike has several years experience in mapping and preparing scene diagrams. He has been trained in the use of the laser
equipment and diagraming software CARS, Inc. uses.
We do not limit our scenes to "automobile crash sites" but can do other
sites as well. If you need an area mapped, we can map it and produce a diagram to be used at mediation, trial or
both. As an example, there may be a question regarding sufficient lighting in a parking lot or around the entrance to
a building, CARS, Inc. can not only map the area but also measure the ambient lighting and incorporate it into the diagram.
Mapping fee is $200/hr, which includes
two mapping technicians. Scaled scene diagrams are prepared from
the scene mapping at a fee of $125.00/hr.
